buyarock.com was conceived by two guys who met while working at an ad agency in NY on the De Beers diamond account. Over the years they became close friends and while on a recent winter camping trip, sitting around a campfire, they began to think. At first it was just something to do to try and keep warm. Then, to their surprise, right there in the dark, cold Maine woods this thinking started to produce some rock-solid ideas.

Between the two of them, they had been promoting diamonds and studying the market on behalf of De Beers for 14 years. If they learned one thing, it was that buying a diamond can be a complicated, frightening and intimidating event. They also knew that presenting a gift of diamond jewelry could be one of the most rewarding experiences of a lifetime.
